In his captivating new book, The Physics of Religion: From Buddha to Jesus, Dr. William J. Meggs invites readers to explore one of humanity’s oldest questions through a modern lens: What connects spiritual enlightenment and scientific discovery?
Blending his expertise as a physician, biomedical scientist, and former theoretical physicist, Dr. Meggs argues that mystics such as Buddha and Jesus uncovered truths about consciousness that mirror what modern quantum physics reveals about reality. Through clear explanations and deeply personal insight, he proposes that the human brain itself is a quantum system, capable of experiencing the world in two modes: the ordinary, space-time reality and the timeless, energy-momentum state described by physics.
“Buddha and the quantum physicists discovered the same truth,” writes Meggs. “One through meditation, the other through mathematics.”
The Physics of Religion traces this shared understanding across history, from the birth of classical physics to the rise of quantum theory, while examining how compassion, consciousness, and the corruption of organized religion shape humanity’s search for meaning. The result is a profound, accessible synthesis of science and spirituality that challenges readers to rethink what it means to experience the divine.
The Physics of Religion: From Buddha to Jesus is now available through major book retailers and online stores.
