Miami, FL – November 10, 2025 – Author Aitana Arvelo announces the release of her new children’s illustrated book, “Nací en el Llano, me quedé en una flor,” a tender and imaginative story about home, memory, and belonging, told through the eyes of an adventurous capybara.
The book reimagines Arvelo’s beloved dog as a capybara who sets out alone from Acarigua, Venezuela, to New York City. Along her journey, she crosses rivers, cities, and landscapes that echo both nostalgia and discovery, offering young readers a poetic exploration of identity, migration, and emotional resilience.
“With a little piece of me sprinkled in every illustration, I wanted every page to echo Chiquita’s heart—a mix of nostalgia and adventure,” said the book’s illustrator. “With love and care, I painted her story as both a farewell and a homecoming.”
Beautifully written and richly illustrated, “Nací en el Llano, me quedé en una flor” captures the wonder of childhood imagination while touching on universal experiences of love and displacement. Through lyrical prose and vibrant imagery, Arvelo invites readers to reflect on what it means to find one’s place in the world.
The book is now available for purchase and pre-order through the author’s official website below.
