Queens, NY – September 9, 2025 – New York City has a new reason to celebrate sweet moments. Tealicious, the first South Asian–owned halal bubble tea and dessert brand, opened its doors on July 13, 2024, and has quickly become a campus favorite.
In less than a year, Tealicious has expanded to multiple NYC colleges, including Queens College, Hunter College, and John Jay College, with more campus and neighborhood locations on the way. The brand also operates cafés in Queens Village and South Richmond Hill, welcoming both students and the local community.
Tealicious stands out by offering halal-certified bubble tea and desserts, a rarity in the city’s food scene. The menu features bubble tea, crepes, waffles, ice cream, and milkshakes — all crafted to be inclusive and culturally rooted. Fans can follow the journey and new store openings on Instagram at @tealicious.nyc.
“As a student in New York, I knew how hard it was to find halal-certified spots that also felt modern and fun. Tealicious was built for students like us — a place to grab a drink after class, celebrate small wins, and feel included in the city’s food culture,” said Zaib Khan, founder of Tealicious.
In under a year, Tealicious has built a reputation for quality and community, becoming a go-to spot for students between classes and friends gathering after hours. With continued expansion on the horizon, the brand is positioning itself as a rising player in New York’s diverse food and beverage scene.
