CASPER, WY – April 14, 2025 – Independent recording artist Lazarus Benson has released his highly anticipated single “Mindreader” on Spotify, delivering a dark and genre-defying track that’s already making waves in underground music circles. Known for fusing aggressive sounds with emotional storytelling, Benson’s latest release tackles the tension of emotional miscommunication — what happens when silence speaks louder than words.
Mindreader is a sonically intense experience, blending hip-hop drums, metal percussion, distorted guitar riffs, haunting synths, and guttural screams. It’s a cinematic soundscape that mirrors the chaos and frustration of being misunderstood in a relationship. Co-produced, mixed, and mastered by Alex Asch and Dirk Dugan, the track reflects Benson’s refusal to conform to industry norms.
“Lazarus is building something the industry hasn’t seen yet,” says Alex Asch, whose credits include eight gold records and over 140 million streams. “He’s not borrowing from genres—he’s creating a new one.”
Born and raised in Casper, Wyoming, Benson’s music is deeply personal. After his father’s incarceration, he was raised by a single mother and turned to music as an outlet for pain, survival, and growth. His influences span hip-hop, pop, rock, metalcore, R&B, and emo trap, but his sound can’t be easily labeled. Each release is driven by emotional honesty and a desire to express the intensity of real-life experiences.
Though unsigned by a major label and operating without traditional playlisting or promotional backing, Lazarus Benson is steadily gaining traction. Mindreader earned nearly 100 pre-saves before its official release, a testament to his growing fan base drawn to his unfiltered authenticity. His 2025 release lineup already includes Rain, Burn Down, Gospel, Sacrifice (featuring Whitney Peyton & T-Zank), and Merry-Go-Round (featuring Kung Fu Vampire), reinforcing his rapid evolution as an artist to watch.
With fearless songwriting, a bold sonic identity, and co-signs from respected producers, Lazarus Benson is making a name for himself as an independent force redefining modern alternative music.
