PsyLeb is excited to announce the publication of its latest article, The Psychological Impact on Children of the Recent War in Lebanon: Trauma, Resilience, and the Path to Healing. Authored by renowned Clinical and Pathological Psychotherapist Mariane El Khoury, the article provides a compelling exploration of how the recent conflict in Lebanon has deeply affected the mental well-being of its youngest citizens.
In this new piece, Mariane El Khoury examines the severe psychological toll that war inflicts on children — from increased rates of post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression to disruptive behavioral challenges. The article offers a detailed narrative of the hardships faced by these vulnerable individuals, including the compounded effects of displacement and loss of stability. Yet, it also highlights the remarkable resilience exhibited by these young survivors, emphasizing that with targeted psychological support and community-based interventions, there is a promising path toward recovery.
Mariane El Khoury shares, “I have witnessed firsthand the transformation of trauma into resilience among these children. With compassionate care and psychotherapy, we can help them heal and rebuild their futures.”
