“Recovery on the Runway” redefines the traditional fashion show, putting recovery and mental health advocacy at the forefront. Each season, the Break Free Foundation invites activists, influencers, and designers to use their art to inspire change and spread the message that there is life beyond recovery.

The show highlights diverse recovery stories, encompassing journeys from substance use, co-occurring disorders, risky behaviors like love addiction, gambling addiction, self-harm, disordered eating, surviving a suicide attempt, and mental health recovery.

“At Break Free, we believe that everyone is recovering from something,” said Alexandra Nyman, founder of Break Free Foundation. “This event is more than a fashion show — it’s a movement to celebrate resilience, break down stigma, and empower those in recovery.”

Featured Designers

  • Sky Eagle Collection: Led by Native American artist and veteran Dante Biss-Grayson, this brand celebrates cultural heritage and resilience through contemporary fashion.
  • Rehab Studios: Inspired by real recovery journeys, this New York City-based brand merges streetwear and ready-to-wear designs that challenge stigma and celebrate individuality.
  • Chablis Designs: Helmed by Tyrone Chablis, a cornerstone of the New Jersey fashion scene, showcasing timeless style and innovative designs rooted in passion and experience.

Proceeds from this event will support the Break Free Foundation’s Scholarship Fund, which provides financial aid for individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders.
