Barcelona, Spain – At the forefront of ePaper technology innovation, Seekink Technology participated in the unveiling of the first global ePaper Industry White Paper during the IoT Solutions World Congress 2024. The event also showcased the advancements and future prospects of ePaper technologies and industry applications for the fast-growing IoT market.
Championing Sustainability and Green Displays
The ePaper industry white paper, championed by the ePaper Industry Alliance (EPIA) which was co-founded by three key upstream players, namely E Ink, Seekink and BOE in 2021 and headquartered in Shanghai, explores the evolution of ePaper technology and products, reviewing its contribution to the creation of an alternative solution for green and paperless displays. The global white paper release marks a significant milestone for the industry, emphasizing collaborative efforts to advance sustainable display technology and digitalization application upgrading.
At present, more than 180 research institutions and enterprises have joined in EPIA, including Lenovo, iFLYINK, TCL CSOT, DKE, QINGYUE, MVE, aiming at building an industrial ecological platform, driving innovation, promoting the value of green technology, and advancing ePaper-related standardizations.
Seekink Leaing in Expanding ePaper Applications
Thomas de Laar, the CEO of Seekink Europe, delivered a presentation titled “Leading ePaper Technology for an Environmentally Friendly Society” at the launch event. His speech highlighted how Seekink is pioneering the expansion of ePaper applications beyond traditional realms. With their unique technology advantages and capabilities to produce colored and large-sized ePaper modules for global solution providers, Seekink is making advancements in many emerging IoT markets, such as public transportation, smart healthcare and utility services, as well as propelling the environmental benefits of ePaper into sectors keen to engage in carbon reduction, with technology advantages compared with other traditional display solutions.

Other industry leaders, including David Keefe from E Ink, Sally Liang from Hanshow Technology, and Romain Gentile from Philips Professional Display Solutions, also Shared their insights to the whole industry. Their presentations covered a range of topics from ePaper technology to innovative applications in smart retail, smart office, smart education, smart transportation, smart hospital systems, smart industry and other IOT fields.
ePaper: A Driver of the Paperless Wave
In fact, as an important carrier of the paperless wave and an ideal new display technology for smart IoT hardware terminal products, ePaper has been widely used in eReader, eNote, electronic shelf label (ESL), logistics sheets, nameplates/doorplates, bus stop signs among other solutions, driving an annual upstream and downstream output value of more than 13.9 billion USD.
