Chaine launches AI-powered freight tracking and capacity procurement platform to automate freight brokerage operations
Carrier procurement, freight visibility and automation for freight brokers and logistics teams

Carrier sales representatives at freight brokerages spend over 80% of their day on repetitive and redundant tasks; they are overwhelmed with phone calls and emails repeating the same information when procuring carriers and tracking freight. Freight brokerages need more carrier re-use and load tracking compliance due to the fragmented nature of their carrier base; more than 97% of truck carriers have less than ten trucks.

Chaine, a San Francisco-based startup, announces the launch of its AI-powered platform that helps freight brokers get over 95% tracking compliance, 17% higher margins on freight booked through Chaine, and a 50% increase in carrier sales representative productivity after a few weeks. “Chaine has reduced to minutes, things that used to take hours,” says Eric Schnirel, President of Greatlakes Transport Solutions. “For example, following up with drivers to confirm if they arrived or are loaded. Now my reps come to their desk in the morning and check-call follow-ups are done for them. It works like magic.”

The freight brokerage world is fast-paced, extremely turbulent, and high-touch due to the complexity of freight markets, volatility of truck capacity and costs, and the myriad types of freight with varying handling requirements. Chaine wants to change that and help freight brokerages compete with technology-enabled giants to level the playing field.

“Within the next five years, gone will be the days when carrier sales representatives are limited by their telephone call volume capacity,” says Annalise Sandhu, CEO and co-founder of Chaine. “We are moving fast in an AI-enabled world, and we are helping our customers to be twice as efficient as other freight brokers. Our customers get 17% higher margins when using our capacity procurement platform and over 95% freight visibility tracking compliance. We’re a one-stop shop for our customers for a complete end-to-end solution to help manage carrier interactions from booking to delivery.”

The platform offers a suite of AI-powered features benefitting carrier sales and customer sales reps. Chaine offers an array of robust features, including freight visibility, load tracking, capacity sourcing, carrier management, carrier scorecards, freight lane analytics, and digital freight booking, all designed to streamline the freight brokerage process. Additionally, Chaine delivers an easy-to-use carrier visibility experience, allowing carriers to connect whatever visibility solution they have. They are integrated with over 100 ELD providers, provide mobile app tracking, and integrate with other tracking vendors like Project44 to be the center of freight tracking data.
