Nadia Ianakieva is thrilled to release one of her literary masterpieces titled Kiss The Old Toad and Believe: A Story Inspired by Real-Life Events. It’s an emotional charged and inspiring novel that tells the story of a troubled Bulgarian girl who later found peace in God. This novel inspired by real-life events artfully captivates its readers with its poetic words. Readers are promised to relate with the main character of the book as her travails and the unwavering hope are relatable.
Set against the backdrop of the communist Bulgaria, Nia a young Bulgarian woman is battling with alcohol and the promiscuous habit of her husband. She visits a gypsy fortune teller to seek for solutions to her predicaments and she’s told that she’s cursed. This revelation confirms her suspicion that she’s cursed by her grandmother.
The novel’s narrative is strongly linked to the author’s personal experiences, offering readers a glimpse into the struggles and triumphs against vicissitudes.
“I pray and believe with all my heart that Nadia’s stories will build up not just faith and hope in many lives (after all Nadia comes from “nadejda”, the Bulgarian word for hope,) but character as well,” Svetlana Karoleva, Editor of Leah magazine said.
Positive reviews are coming in already from early readers of this book. Some of the reviews lauds the book for its raw authenticity and relatability while others find it highly spiritual. One of the reviews indicates that:
“This book was a story of Nias struggles in communist Bulgaria. It shows how the impossible became possible with her new found faith in God and her struggles with life’s hardest challenges and disappointments. How God was with her every step even when she didn’t know it. A beautiful immigrant story of coming to America with her family, working hard, trying to fit in this new life and a new mission for her in this new and strange land. Unexpected twists and turns and a good read. Highly recommended!”- Nana.
