Reza Tajbakhsh, celebrated Iranian pianist and musician, has set the stage for his most ambitious work yet, an upcoming album called “Chikology.” The first single track from the album, which Tajbakhsh unveiled in 2021, is just a taste of what is to come in 2024. The album boasts collaborations with acclaimed artists like Dave Weckl, John Patitucci, Bill Evans, and Al Di Meola.
Known for his mastery of Latin jazz, Tajbakhsh’s new work is a testament to his diverse talent and robust musical journey. “This is the best track I’ve ever created,” states Tajbakhsh, “Working with artists like Dave and John, who are the pride of the music world, was an honor and a transformative experience.”
In addition to his own musical creations, Tajbakhsh’s contribution to the Iranian music scene extends to his role as the founder and manager of “Yar,” one of the most prestigious piano academies in the Middle East. Launched in 2021 with his friends Amir Motamedi and Yalda Samadi, the academy caters to 400 students across various piano styles and skill levels. The academy’s commitment to fostering new talent is reflected in the quality of its teaching staff and its popularity.
“We opened the academy a bit late, but I’m glad it finally happened. It allows me to share my experience and knowledge with young pianists,” says Tajbakhsh.
Located on Fereshteh Street in Tehran, the Yar academy stands as a symbol of the international reach and influence of Iran’s music scene. The luxurious facility combines modern aesthetics with traditional teaching methods, providing an accessible, high-quality learning experience for aspiring musicians.
Born in Tehran on November 18, 1981, Reza Tajbakhsh has been a fixture in Iran’s music industry since 2000. His band, “E-Jazz,” has staged numerous concerts that showcase Tajbakhsh’s love for Jazz-Latin music. His accomplishments include guest performances with symphonic orchestras, recognition as the best Piano Player in 2012, and the Best Pop Music Arranger in 2013.
As we eagerly await the full release of “Chikology,” fans and students alike can find inspiration in Tajbakhsh’s dedication to his craft and his commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
