A two-member delegation of the BOL Media Group, led by its Chairperson Ms. Ayesha Shaikh, called upon Mr. Hikmat Hajiyev, advisor to the President of Azerbaijan on foreign policy, at his office in Baku.
Ms. Shaikh thanked Mr. Hajiyev for his valuable time and for explaining some of the foreign policy objectives of Azerbaijan, a brother Muslim country, which enjoys a close relationship with Pakistan.
Ms. Shaikh said that President Ilham Aliyev brought stability, progress, and peace to Azerbaijan since he assumed power in this important Central Asian nation in 2003. “His rules have ensured continuity of policies, which played a key role in transforming and modernizing Azerbaijan and putting it solidly on the road of progress.”
She also lauded the efforts of Mr. Hikmat Hajiyev, who is the architect of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, for his role in bringing Baku and Islamabad closer. “I am highly impressed by your vision and approach towards establishing excellent foreign relations with the world and especially the way Azerbaijan and Pakistan have come closer during the last two years,” she said.
Azerbaijan President and his team, including Mr. Hajiyev, won the hearts of their countrymen the way they handled the 41-day Karabagh War.
Ms. Shaikh informed Mr. Hajiyev about her meetings in Baku, including with the IT Minister and First Deputy Minister of Culture. During her visit, the BOL delegation also met with the top officials of SOCAR and AZPROMO and signed a memorandum of understanding with the state-run AzTV.
She said Pakistani investors have great investment opportunities in Azerbaijan, which will be duly highlighted by the BOL Group.
“The BOL Group – Pakistan’s largest media enterprise – plans to expand its footprint, particularly in the education and IT sectors that have great potential in Azerbaijan”, she said.
