During her fifth Olympics, Lindsey Jacobellis earned her first Olympic gold medal in snowboard cross and another gold in the mixed team snowboard cross with her partner, Nick Baumgartner!
Lindsey Jacobellis has been a long-term supporter of Lifeboost Coffee. Starting off her days with a quick walk proceeded with her favorite, medium roast coffee to prepare for her grueling and exhausting workdays.
As a brand that has been eagerly anticipating and encouraging her performance at the Olympics, Lifeboost Coffee celebrated ecstatically when she earned her first gold medal in the Olympics after sixteen years of endless perseverance.
From the beginning, Jacobellis had always been a stand-out in the sport. Having debuted in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin with a silver medal in snowboard cross and becoming the most decorated female snowboard cross athlete ever since.
She has dominated this niche for almost two decades now. Having also been considered a six-times World Champion and ten-times X Games champion!
Jacobellis has been competing since she was fifteen years old. She started setting records in the X Games from that point and, soon enough, was appearing in the Olympics.
Now, she’s considered a five-time Olympian. Having earned a silver medal in the 2006 Torino Olympics and subsequently appeared in the 2010, 2014, and 2018 Olympics to try her hand at earning her first-ever gold medal.
She was born in Danbury, Connecticut, and has admitted to having always been competitive. She started off as a skier but ended up stopping due to financial difficulties. Still, she didn’t let that keep her from pursuing her love of sport and competition — which is how she ended up getting into snowboarding.
If you weren’t around to see the 2022 Beijing Games yourself, here’s a bit of an overview of how things worked out: It was a Wednesday, the United States team had yet to earn a gold medal despite it having been five days since the games began. And… Who else ended that streak but Jacobellis herself!
36 years old and heading into her fifth attempt at getting that gold medal, she had a beautiful and clean start in the finals. Jacobellis will later describe the sensation of crossing the finish line as an “unbelievable moment” that didn’t seem real at the time. But it was indeed very real!
Suffice to say, it was an unforgettable moment for Lindsey Jacobellis, and it’s one that we, her friends at Lifeboost Coffee, can only rejoice along with.
