"The King of Cream" Preston Bradley Sheds Light on the Situations That Led to His Career in Entertainment

While hard work is one of the essential things needed to achieve the success one desires, opportunities are equally important. Being at the right place at the right time and knowing the right people can help one progress further in their endeavors, and no one knows it better than actor and comedian Preston Bradley.

Originally from Chicago, Bradley grew up as an athlete, often scouted by top D1 colleges to play soccer. Although he was more than capable of thriving, Bradley knew that he wanted to pursue comedy over sports. His passion started when he acted in his brother’s short films growing up, sparking interest around movie sets. Additionally, Bradley’s participation in a few film noir and film history classes in high school instilled the desire to pursue acting seriously.

“My brother went on to graduate from USC film school,” Preston Bradley elaborated. “So while applying for classes at Indiana University my freshman year, I decided to pursue an acting class.”

After completing his freshman year, Bradley decided to put his studies on hold to pursue improv comedy at Second City Chicago, taking professional on-camera classes at The Acting Studio of Chicago. He would remain there for years, learning and advancing his comedic technique before he decided to move to Los Angeles in 2014.

Bradley relied on his comedic training to get himself to the next level in his career without much credit to his name except a few short films in Chicago. However, he was able to secure a job once he settled down, working at a Jimmy John’s sandwich chain near USC, delivering food on a bike to hungry college students. Throughout his stint, he would hear about a company called “Central Casting,” prompting him to do more research. Finally, Bradley learned that it was exactly what he wanted to do with his time.

After a couple of gigs, he quit his job at Jimmy Johns to pursue acting full time. Preston Bradley was able to save enough from his previous jobs to stay afloat while he went on auditions. By 2017, the comedian was able to book several projects and also signed on to a featured background role on Will and Grace. However, he was replaced before it aired.

From there, Bradley delved into other endeavors. By 2020, he started to get into TikTok and content creation. The first few months yielded little to no fruits, but things started to look up for him by November. Preston Bradley was asked to stand in for Lil Dicky on the FX show, Dave. As a result, he was able to work from November 2020 to February 2021, creating content for his TikTok in his free time. During that window, Bradley grew his following with a string of viral videos.

Like every great comedian, Preston Bradley also created a character named “The King of Cream,” who frequently used catch phrases like “That’s so creamy.” Once shooting wrapped up, he continued to post his content on TikTok. Although he was banned eleven times, the comedian noticed that there was a shift on the platform, allowing different types of content to once again flourish.

With the road wide open in his career, Preston Bradley is optimistic about appearing in major movies and TV shows. In addition, he hopes to own a production company with his brother that can help them win the most prestigious awards in entertainment.
