Author Kathleen Dunleavy’s highly rated book “Mom’s Poetry,” a lovely collection of poems about her journey as she traveled along the path of life, is now available in leading digital stores globally.
“Mom’s Poetry” takes readers on a journey where they get to see how Kathleen, a mother herself, went through episodes of her life – her relationships with people as well as significant events throughout her life. Kathleen is a mother of four, grandmother of eleven, and a great grandmother to two amazing little ones.
The collection, which involves some solemn and spiritual works, has a verse written about each family member. “Mom’s Poetry” also features several Thanksgiving prayer-poems, an impassioned 9-11 write-up from a hands-on point of view, and some deaths in the family.
Kathleen says she was working at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital when the Towers were damaged and engulfed in flame. Her staff hurriedly prepared the Intensive Care Unit to receive the victims.
In a review on Amazon, a reader described “Mom’s Poetry” as beautiful, catchy, and full of life’s experiences.
“Bless me, Father, for I have sinned. Is music to God’s ears.” It is so full of meaning for Catholics especially. I just loved it! Another favorite is Best Friends and the two dogs – So true – Unconditional love of a dog. Loved the paintings and their explanations. Let’s have more,” the reader wrote.
On the other hand, M.M. Agnes, another reader, writes: “Touching, from the heart. A beautiful woman is sharing her thoughts, feelings, and love for her family. Funny, too.” “Mom’s Poetry” currently has a 5/5 global rating on Amazon, with readers commending Kathleen Dunleavy for coming up with a touching novel.
Apart from being an accomplished pianist and organist, Kathleen has primary interests in her family, children, gardening, writing, walking, spirituality, benevolence, and music.
Kathleen’s professional career was in nursing. She was employed at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital for about 40 years in the fields of Neurology and Neurosurgery. Before her retirement, she served as the Patient Care Director of the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit.
During her stint at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital, in addition to her nursing role, Kathleen served as the co-chairperson of the institution’s Organ Donor Council. She was also chairperson of the Pastoral Care Advisory Board and a Medical Ethics Committee member.
