Atlanta, Ga. – Dec 10, 2021 – The non-profit organization, Sidewalk University will be establishing its headquarters and all operations in a new location in Metro Atlanta. The launch of its new home will take place early next month.
“The new location will allow us to greatly expand our services to the surrounding Atlanta communities,” said Sidewalk University co-founder, Tere’ Green. Mrs. Green and her husband created Sidewalk University to help impoverished communities close the income and achievement gap. Their plan to help close those gaps involves teaching early literacy skills, financial literacy, social and emotional wellness, and entrepreneurship.
The expansion comes as Sidewalk University is seeing an increase in demand for its services. They anticipate accepting 100 new clients as early next year, as they settle into their new location.
About the Sidewalk University
Sidewalk University was created by an educator and her husband, who saw a great need to provide a service to people of impoverished communities. From teaching disadvantaged youth in low-income schools, Mrs. Green observed first-hand the necessity for education, financial literacy, and social and emotional training. She watched students suffer academic losses due to their home life being dysfunctional and lacking these components. “In order to help these communities, create better lives for themselves, we must train them on how to meet their own cognitive, emotional, and financial needs. That is where I think we should start.”
