Renowned author Joyce Keveren’s new work, “Wild Horses,” a 158-page book and her first collection of short stories, is now available in leading digital bookstores worldwide.
“Parts of some of these stories are true or partly true or based on something somebody else told me was true, so pretty much, these stories are fiction,” Joyce Keveren writes.
The “Wild Horses” author said she loves to write fiction for two reasons. “First, I can do most of the research in my head, which is fun,” Joyce Keveren shares.
Second, Joyce Keveren says fiction is often more truthful than non-fiction. It can afford to be as it takes little responsibility, as the disclaimer in the front of the book tells readers.
“That’s freedom of speech at work which we all need and love. Even if it’s a raving, ranting piece of borderline insane rage or a declaration of freedom and love, that freedom is a good thing, especially for writers. And all other people,” Joyce Keveren explains.
Joyce Keveren has written six novels and one volume of poetry. This is her first collection of short stories as part of her work in narrative fiction. Joyce Keveren is also an artist. She did the painting for the cover of “Wild Horses.”
But apart from being a writer and painter, Joyce is a semi-hermit and a mother of four grown children. She is currently living in Phoenix, Arizona.
Her other novels are The Fourth World City of Delights, Eden Reclaimed, Naked Love, Song of the Meadowlark, The String Theory Quartet, and Welcome to Dog Leg.
Welcome to Dog Leg, one of her most recent novels, carries the summary: “Max arrives in Dog Leg, Arizona, population 823, a town that calls itself The Poor Man’s Eden, nine months pregnant, in labor, running from an abusive boyfriend and family tragedy. Will the citizens of Dog Leg, that rainbow assortment of multicolored people, accept her and her baby?”
On the other hand, her book, “The Fourth World City of Delights,” talks about a dilapidated mobile homeless shelter and safe house for the Witness Dislocation Program disguised as a carnival, which is home to an assorted group of people, all of whom are longing for a real home.
Those who want to grab a copy of “Wild Horses” can purchase it on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Book Depository. As the holiday season inches closer, “Wild Horses” serves as an excellent gift for young and old alike.
