Luis Hoxha is the 36-year-old founder of Mado Fusion Restaurant, a entrepreneur and investor. His goal is to inspire people to live a healthier lifestyle by educating them on which products are truly healthy, as well as providing recipes made using clean ingredients at his restaurant.
Recently caught up with Luis for a chat, to find out how he earns his living by sharing his passion for food & travel:
Q1. Can people with no special skills really develop a successful startup?
“Everyone has special skills. Not everyone has special, technical skills, but that’s not the point—many of the people we talked with found a way to apply the skills they already had in a specific way that was useful and helpful to others.”
Q2. How many languages do you speak now and what is your motivation for wanting to learn so many languages
“It depends on how you define “speak”. I understand it as everything from basic conversational up to Mastery, and in that case it’s about 3. I have been passionate about each one, through exploring a local culture and making new business deals. When you see a language as a living thing, then you never lose motivation!”
Q3. How difficult was it setting up your business, growing the business, getting customers, promoting it, etc?
“It was extremely difficult if we speak for Mado Restaurant.”
“There are so many little things that go into building a business. I outsource and hire experts whenever I can, but there’s still quite a few loose ends that are on me to take care of.”
“So I’d say the hardest part wasn’t learning how to do it, but putting in the hours to get it done.”
Q4. Where does that drive to be your own boss come from? Why did you decide the life of a 9-5 employee was not for you?
“I recognised that I could work 40-60-100-hours a week for my employer and the house and life that I wanted at the time, would never have been possible. If I wanted it to happen I had to get out there and make it happen.”
Q5. Do you use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc, to promote your business? How successful has it been for you? Any advice on how businesses can use social media to promote themselves?
“I use them all. With my @luis_hoxha Instagram account, I’ve done over 1,000 posts and built over 14,000+ followers, it’s fair to say it’s successful for me. The great thing about all social media is that it’s free, all it costs you is a little bit of time. But add some personality to your social media, boring business posts get ignored. Social media is essential and MD’s and CEO’s who choose to dismiss it will find themselves out of step with their customers. Lets connect!”
Q6. What mistakes have you made in your business, and what would you have done differently?
“A mistake is only a mistake after the event up til then it’s the right thing. Experience is what you win when you lose, and having the experience means I’m less likely to make the same mistakes again.”
Conclusion
Luis Hoxha experience was a good spoken by his answers and he will be really good in this way.
