Aventura, FL – In a recent interview with Fox News, Grant Cardone of Cardone Capital fame offered some startling opinions about the state of the American economy. Cardone was responding to comments made by JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, who said that America’s economy is the most prosperous the world has ever seen and that it will continue to be so for the next hundred years. While admitting that income inequality is a big problem, Dimon said that the consumer, which is 70 percent of the U.S. economy, is quite strong, and confidence is very high.
Grant Cardone sees things from a different perspective, explaining that there are two sets of rules in play – one for the wealthy, and another for the middle class.
“The super rich are disconnected from the middle class of America,” says Cardone. “It doesn’t matter how great the economy is today or for the next hundred years, if you don’t play by the wealthy rules, you’re not going to benefit from the economy, regardless of how good it is.”
According to Cardone, Dimon and his associates play by a completely different set of rules to the ones that he was brought up with.
“Middle class America is having a hard time getting ahead, no matter how good the economy, and that’s because they’re following the wrong set of rules.”
Cardone points out that 76% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, and suggests that there are two main reasons why most people will never get ahead:
“First of all, they’re taught to save money. Putting your money in the bank these days is the worst possible idea. In the old days we were taught that cash was king, but today you need to invest your cash into the marketplace where it can provide you with actual cash flow.”
While there was a time when investors could expect to earn 10% interest from the bank, these days that figure is closer to .0182%.
“It would take you 80 years to double your money.”
And the second reason why middle class Americans will never get ahead is because people are buying homes as if that’s a way to make money.
“Dimon’s wealthy friends are not doing that. They invest in businesses, and they don’t keep cash in the bank.”
Cardone, a college graduate himself, also advises people not to go to college.
“College will burden you with four to six years of tuition. And the job you’re training for may not even exist by the time you graduate, which means that you gave away four to six years of your life earnings. My advice is to graduate from high school and learn a skill set that follows the money. Don’t follow your passion, don’t follow what you like, follow the money.”
Cardone is renowned for having single-handedly revolutionized the real estate investment industry by opening up real estate investment opportunities to ordinary investors. The firm raises money from the public by launching equity funds into which anyone can invest. The funds are then used to purchase existing income-generating properties, and investors are guaranteed regular cash flows, value appreciation, and the opportunity to create long-term wealth.
