The latest data by Statistics Canada is revealing a worrying pattern: the Crime Severity Index (the official measurement of volume and severity of police-reported crimes) has increased for the fourth year in a row. Seven of Canada’s 13 provinces are at the top of that with Ontario specifically recording a 6 per cent increase. The crimes responsible for this spike were: fraud, breaking and entering, homicide and sexual assault.
And while evident there needs to be an integrated approach to allow for systemic change and an increase in awareness, companies such as CCTV Systems are committed to playing their role as responsible members of society and leverage what they do best to help decrease the numbers of breaking and entering and potentially other crimes as well.
65 Per Cent Of Burglars Know Their Victims
Research has shown that when a breaking and entering occurs, in 65 per cent of the cases the burglar has studies their target closely in order to learn their schedules and habits, and potentially identify the most appropriate time to make their hit. As far as CCTV camera systems covers all ground. Homeowners have the possibility to check the surrounding area of their home day and night, regardless of weather conditions, at the touch of a button.
76 Per Cent Of Canadians Say A Monitored Alarm System Is Effective In Improving Home Safety
According to a recent poll, pre-installed home security systems are on the checklist of over 40 per cent of Canadians looking to buy a new home, while the majority of those (76 per cent) who already have such a system installed are praising their benefits, in particular improvement in safety and security of the property.
The CCTV camera system installation could not be more accessible and easy to use. The device comes with everything required to get the system up and running in no time. “Every year when Statistics Canada publish their police-reported crime survey findings, many of us are outraged or even worse, terrified. This should not be the case anywhere and even more so in a city such as Toronto. Our business wishes to protect the citizens as much as possible by equipping them with the leading technology available on the market and empowering them to take control of their own safety. This is why we have worked hard to make the process as seamless as possible – from the moment a camera is ordered through to delivery and installation,” said a CCTV Systems representative.
