August 30, 2024 – “.38 Silencer: Unfired Guns Still Kill,” the compelling and deeply personal memoir by LaWanda Will B LaWanda, is now available. This groundbreaking book offers readers an unfiltered look into the life of a woman who endured unimaginable trauma, only to emerge with a voice that speaks for those who have been silenced.
In “.38 Silencer: Unfired Guns Still Kill,” LaWanda recounts her true story—a harrowing journey that began when she was only 9 years old. Groomed, molested, and impregnated, LaWanda was not only a victim of abuse but also suffered the additional trauma of being blamed for what was done to her. For seven long years, she lived in the shadow of her abuser, who became a permanent fixture in her family. The trauma and silence that ensued lasted for 38 years, until a single trigger brought her to confront the truth that had been buried for so long.
The .38 gun that was held to LaWanda’s head may never have been fired, but the damage was done, leaving deep emotional scars and a story that begged to be told. “.38 Silencer: Unfired Guns Still Kill” is not just a memoir; it is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of breaking one’s silence.
