Chicago, IL, USA – November 13, 2023 – The latest episode of the “Because Bikers Matter!”® Podcast features a special guest, Dr. Mike Acierno, a highly skilled dentist, and advocate for veterans. Hosted by David “Vegas” Shuman, the podcast episode delves into Dr. Acierno’s dental practice and the exceptional services they provide to veterans.
Dr. Acierno, a dentist with over 22 years of experience, is the co-founder of DecisionOne Dental Partners®, a group of 40 dental offices located throughout the Chicago area. The practice aims to maintain a neighborhood dental feel, while benefiting from the advantages of a larger organization. Dr. Acierno’s passion for helping veterans stems from his admiration for his grandfather, a World War II veteran, and his desire to give back to those who have served.
The episode highlights Dr. Acierno’s annual event, A Reason To Smile “Celebrate Those Who Served,” which offers free dental services to veterans. The event was inspired by the discontinuation of a similar program run by the State of Illinois. Driven by a deep sense of gratitude, Dr. Acierno and his team decided to take matters into their own hands and continue providing much-needed dental care to veterans.
During the event, which takes place on November 4th, veterans can receive a range of dental services, including extractions, fillings, crown and bridge work, dentures, cleanings, and periodontal treatments. The event has grown significantly over the years, with 14 offices and over 100 team members volunteering their time and expertise to support veterans in need.
Dr. Acierno’s dedication to veterans has not gone unnoticed. To date, his practice has provided over $100,000 worth of free dental care to veterans. This year, with the support of Ottawa Dental Lab, who generously contributes their services, the event aims to reach even more veterans and make a lasting impact on their oral health.
To schedule an appointment for the A Reason To Smile “Celebrate Those Who Served” event, veterans can visit decisiononedental.com/vets or call 690-869-5871. The event is open to all veterans, and Dr. Acierno encourages everyone to spread the word and help ensure that as many veterans as possible can benefit from this opportunity.
