SILIKE has over 20 years of experience in developing silicone additives. In recent news, the use of slip agents and anti-block additives in BOPP/CPP/CPE/blowing films has become increasingly popular. Slip agents are commonly used to reduce friction between layers of packaging material, also require the non-migration for long term slip ,while anti-block additives prevent the films from sticking together during storage or transportation.
Slip agents are typically added during the film manufacturing process to create a smooth surface that reduces COF between layers of the film. This reduces the risk of the film tearing or breaking during processing or packaging. In addition, slip agents can improve the film’s machinability, making it easier to process and handle during production.
Anti-block additives, on the other hand, are used to prevent films from sticking together during storage or transportation. These additives create a microscopic “rough” surface on the film, which prevents the films from sticking together. This makes it easier to unwind and process the film, improving overall packaging efficiency.
Both slip agents and anti-block additives are essential components in BOPP/CPP/CPE films, providing improved machinability, processing, and packaging efficiency. They also help ensure that the films maintain their performance and quality over time, reducing the risk of product damage or loss due to film failure. As a result, these films are becoming increasingly popular in the packaging industry.
