Connor is a young entrepreneur out of southern California who is best known for giving business owners an advantage in any marketplace through digital marketing. So far he’s helped over 100 businesses and taught over 60 young entrepreneurs how to create strong revenue streams off their computer. He is also the founder of ConnorLangley.com.
Q: Hey Connor, before we dive into everything, can you explain who you are, where you’re from and a brief background of yourself?
A: My name is Connor Langley, I am from Chino Hills, California. I was born into the middle-class wealth and have always felt extremely blessed but there was always an urge to separate myself. At the age of 14, I started to resell streetwear such as Supreme and believe it or not, I was flipping tees for thousands. After a couple of years I realized reselling wasn’t so much of a scalable business model so by 16 I got into ecommerce. I did that for some time until recently I discovered that helping young entrepreneurs like myself create revenue off their computer and helping businesses 5x their revenue through digital marketing was my real passion.
Q: Hustling at 14? Wow, I can’t imagine myself doing anything like that at 14 or even 18. What have you been working on recently?
A: I’ve been solely focused on getting the best results for my full service digital marketing clients so I can grow my referral list. By the time people see this, I will have finished my digital marketing course. I am going to be providing it to clients from now on so I can go from a ‘done-for-you-service’ to a digital course. I will then have more time for new projects such as the course I’m currently putting together for the 65 students I have that are learning how to create strong revenue streams off their computer.
Q: What got you into entrepreneurship and inspired you to start an agency?
A: At 15, I tried a job at a pizza place, Chino Hills Pizza Co., and I hated feeling like people had so much power over me. I also didn’t see how doing something like that everyday would give anyone any sort of satisfaction with their life. At that age they had me replacing beer kegs and gave me no guidance at all for what I was doing so I just did my best and I ended up putting the tube in backwards which led to an explosion. The next day… fired even though I was a minor and had only worked there for 5 months. From then on, I realized I have to get my shit together; I want way more than this and I never had a job again.
Q: I wouldn’t want to work somewhere like that either. But Connor, I see you have young entrepreneurs that look up to you in a way. Do you feel like anyone can do what you do?
A: No, I don’t. I don’t mean to let anyone down by saying that but in all seriousness, starting a business is definitely not for everybody. I think there are a lot of ‘wantrepreneurs’ out there that will try something but 99% of them will quit after they see the sacrifice it takes. They have to ask themselves whether time with family, friends, hobbies, and just living comfortably is less important than a lifestyle of non stop hustle for the first 1-5 years with high-risk and high-reward. You really do have to learn to love what you do.
Q: Thats awesome! What made you want to start working with others and teach them about using the internet to make a living?
A: In all honesty, I don’t want to get that ‘guru’ reputation where it seems like I teach because I can’t do but at the end of the day, I love the feeling of knowing I changed someone’s life and gave them some sort of financial freedom. It’s a similar feeling to when I 5x someone’s revenue who already has a business through digital marketing which is my main stream of income currently.
Q: If you don’t mind me asking, are you in college? How do you feel about college?
A: My high school graduation class is in 2020. I’m not going to college but that doesn’t mean I’m anti-college either. Unless you want to go into the medical field or anything else that obviously requires college, I believe students shouldn’t be forced into education on something without the application to learn which really turns it into knowledge. With that said, I’m very grateful to have a business that is going well right now and I want to continue to grow it. If worst comes to worst, I’m willing to eat dirt and get another job while I get back on my feet with a new business but I’m not worried about that.
Q: How has your life changed since you got involved with digital marketing?
A: Oh man. I was able to meet the CEO of Monster last week and I’m getting to meet Gary Vee in New York very soon. I love when people say they know me from online. I just love what I do.
Q: For someone as young as yourself to see so much success at such a young age, what is next for you?
A: Like I said earlier, I’m going to have the courses done by the time people see this and after that’s done and running, I’m going to learn how to trade and invest in stocks or real estate.
Q: What is your mission? What is your why, that “thing” that drives your high energy personality?
A: I understand that saying this kind of stuff isn’t yet accepted in our society, but honestly I’m just not satisfied. Staying healthy, getting a good job, marrying a beautiful girl, raising a family just isn’t going to cut it with me. I wasn’t always like this at all. I’ve struggled with depression for a long time and after realizing that progress is the real key to happiness with all human beings, I just always feel like I need to be moving forward or I get depressed and feel so unproductive.
Q: What are two lessons you want to leave our readers with today that helped you achieve the success that you have had?
A: High-five yourself. What I mean by that is you have to have such strong confidence in what you want to do that it doesn’t matter what your family or friends say. Also, don’t always feel the need to show off accomplishments. The second lesson I’d like to share is that if you think you know it all, you have already lost the fight. Be a constant learner. “The more you learn the more you earn”.
Q: How can people get in contact with you?
A: Email me at [email protected] or schedule a call with me at connorlangley.com. Thank you.
